Updating Harpoon II and Harpoon II PowerMac to V.1.0.1
Why version 1.0.1 is cool:
1. Many (all known) cosmetic bugs were fixed.
2. A few crash bugs that are so rare no one found them during testing were fixed. There are no known crash bugs remaining.
3. Optimizations were turned on for this version, making the programs a little smaller and faster. Since most ColdWar scenarios are very large and slow, you might not notice unless you play some of the older scenarios.
4. Scenarios made with the PC Scenario Editor can be used.
Installation Instructions:
1. A copy of Harpoon II or Harpoon II PowerMac must be on your hard drive. If you are playing directly from the CD-ROM, you should first read the file ReadMe Harpoon II v1.0.0 located on the Harpoon II CD-ROM, and choose a different installation option (I, III, or IV).
2. Double-Click on the appropriate installer.
a. If you own a PowerMac (any Mac or Performa with a four digit number in the name is a PowerMac), double click on Harpoon II PowerMac Updater located on Disk 1.
b. If you own a 68K Mac, double click on Harpoon II Updater located on Disk 2.
3. The updater should find the correct application to update. If it does not, you will have to help it out. Reasons it might not find the right one: you have multiple, large hard drives; it might find the original copy on the CD-ROM.
4. Click the Update button.
Solution to a possible problem:
If the updater tells you that the program is not the proper version, try copying it from the CD-ROM again. If the problem persists, run Disk First Aid (comes with system software, on Disk Tools) or a commercial disk checking utility (MacTools and Norton Disk Doctor are the most popular ones).
